I was at the doctor’s office a few days ago, and the doctor told me that not only do I have high blood pressure, but my cholesterol is also elevated. He told me that it is probably due to my weight, and that I will need to lose some weight going forward, if I want to reduce my risk for serious medical problems. It was pretty scary, and I do not want to die young because I do not eat well. I want to find the most effective diet that I can find in order to live a healthy life going forward.
I do not want to find a diet that will just help me to lose weight in the short term, if it is not sustainable. Rather, I want to lose weight, and keep it off. That is going to involve changing the way that I eat in general. I am probably going to have to cut out a lot of the meals that I eat, and heavily reduce a lot of other meals that I like. I know that there are a lot of meals I eat which involve excessive amounts of cheese; those meals are probably some of the main culprits for my current obesity and related problems.
I am going to try to find out some healthy nutritional principles that will be the basis of a new diet for me going forward. I know I need to eat more vegetables, and I need to try to figure out which vegetables I like the most. I have never been a big fan of vegetables, but there have to be some that I will eat on a regular basis. Outside of potatoes of course, I actually need to start to eat less potatoes, as they are not all that healthy.
